ONE Clinics History

The Ozarks Neuroscience Education Clinics was established in 2007 as a way for the physicians of Springfield Neurological and Spine Institute to give back to the field of neurosurgery and further neurosurgical resident education. The first year the course was a two day event focusing on spine surgery and practice management, since that time the course has grown to include a day dedicated to cranial pathology. This format has been successful in training ten percent of all neurosurgical residents in the US throughout their education. The advancement of neuroscience could not be accomplished without the prestigious neurosurgeons who have provided the one on one resident training that makes this truly a unique course. Over the years ONE Clinics has become a collaborative effort between CoxHealth Foundation, Springfield Neurological Institute, Washington University, University of Kansas Medical Center and Louisiana State University Health Science Center and we look forward to many successful years.

In 2012 the ONE clinic was able to add neuroscience nursing education, which aligns with the physician curriculum dedicating a day to neurology, cranial pathology and spine pathology. This addition allows the ONE Clinics to educate a comprehensive neuroscience team adding to the continued success of the course.
